Our Pride Unity Games, presented by e.l.f., celebrate the LGBTQ+ community with special guests, activations, in-game tributes and partnerships with local and national LGBTQ+ organizations.

These celebrations feature a special edition Pride Unity Game logo designed by Hamilton, Ontario-based artist Eli, a queer and transgender creative whose work is deeply rooted in themes of identity, resilience and self-expression. We are proud to honor the LGBTQ+ community with Eli's powerful art.

In-Game Activations

  • Puck Drop: Renée Sauvé and Tracey Braun
    • To mark 20 years since the legalization of same-sex marriage in Canada, Renée Sauvé and Tracey Braun—an Ottawa couple who were among the first to marry—will take part in the ceremonial puck drop. Their love story is a symbol of resilience and progress, and their presence honors the countless couples who fought for marriage equality. Celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary this year, Renee and Tracey represent a proud milestone for 2SLGBTQIA+ rights in Canada and the community's enduring fight for love, dignity, and visibility.
  • Anthem Skaters: Ottawa Pride Hockey
    • Standing proudly alongside the players for the national anthem, youth from Ottawa Pride Hockey will join on the blue line in a show of solidarity and representation.
  • 1st Intermission: Ottawa Pride Hockey On-Ice Shootout
    • Bringing energy and excitement to the first intermission, members of Ottawa Pride Hockey will take to the ice for a fun and engaging shootout.
  • Warrior of the Game: Kerry Beckett
    • A true trailblazer and community builder, Kerry Beckett will be recognized as the Warrior of the Game. A founding member of the Ottawa Senior Pride Network, Kerry has been actively involved in Pride organizing for over four decades. She’s also a lifelong advocate for women’s hockey—playing since age eight and skating with one of Ottawa’s first all-female teams, the Ottawa Jets. Her lifelong commitment to both advocacy and athletics embodies the spirit of Pride and the power of perseverance, inclusion, and passion.
  • Concourse Activation: Pride Unity Game Face Painting
    • Fans can stop by the concourse for complimentary Pride-inspired face painting—offering a vibrant way to show support, celebrate identity, and share in the joy of the Unity Game. Whether it’s a rainbow flag, a heart, or bold colors of expression, this activation invites all fans to wear their pride on their face and be part of the celebration.
  • You Can Play

    A leading organization in the movement for LGBTQIA+ inclusion in sports, You Can Play is dedicated to ensuring that athletes, coaches, and fans are judged solely on their talent, work ethic, and dedication—never on their sexual orientation or gender identity. Through partnerships with professional leagues and grassroots organizations, You Can Play continues to break down barriers and create meaningful change in sports culture.

  • Ottawa Pride Hockey

    Ottawa Pride Hockey is an inclusive hockey organization based in Ottawa, Ontario, dedicated to creating a welcoming environment for individuals of all skill levels, genders, and sexual orientations. Founded and operated by queer and trans individuals, the organization offers various programs—including drop-in scrimmages, league play, and beginner skills sessions—to promote safer spaces for everyone to enjoy the sport. By emphasizing community, pride, and the joy of hockey, Ottawa Pride Hockey strives to foster a supportive atmosphere where participants can engage authentically and develop their skills.

  • Ottawa Sport Council

    The Ottawa Sport Council is a nonprofit organization that supports community sport organizations across Ottawa by providing resources, education, and advocacy. Dedicated to promoting access, equity, and excellence in local sport, the Council works to build a more inclusive sport ecosystem. Through initiatives that focus on safe sport, governance, and community engagement, the Ottawa Sport Council plays a vital role in ensuring sport is accessible and welcoming for all participants, regardless of age, background, or ability.

  • Ottawa Senior Pride Network

    The Ottawa Senior Pride Network is a volunteer-driven organization that advocates for the rights, visibility, and well-being of 2SLGBTQ+ seniors in the Ottawa region. Through social programming, education, and community engagement, OSPN works to reduce isolation and ensure inclusive services for older adults. Their commitment to creating safe, welcoming spaces helps foster a sense of belonging, dignity, and connection for queer seniors at every stage of life.

  • LezGo

    LezGo is a vibrant, grassroots social organization that creates inclusive and empowering spaces for 2SLGBTQIA+ women, non-binary folks, and allies in the Ottawa region. Centered around building community through connection, LezGo hosts regular events such as socials, dance parties, and community meetups that celebrate queer joy, visibility, and solidarity. By fostering a fun and welcoming environment, LezGo strengthens social bonds and supports mental well-being—reminding all who attend that pride lives not just in protest, but also in celebration.

Eli's artwork is featured on the PWHL’s Pride Unity Games commemorative shirt, available for purchase at in-venue locations and online at The Official Shop of the PWHL. In celebration of Pride Unity Games, the PWHL is proud to make a contribution to the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center (SNMVC), which opened in June 2024 and serves as a living tribute to the LGBTQ+ rights movement, offering education, historical preservation, and a space for community engagement.

Community Spotlight

Operated independently by Pride Live, the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center is dedicated to protecting and preserving the legacy of the Stonewall Rebellion and allows visitors to experience the historic site where the fight for LGBTQ+ equality began.
