WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW
Minnesota has won all three of their meetings with New York this season. It is tied for the Frost’s longest win streak in the series all-time (also: January/March 2024). It is the second longest active win streak against the Sirens behind the Fleet’s 10-game run.
The Frost have lost back-to-back games in regulation for the first time this season. They have lost three straight in regulation just twice in team history – a five-game streak in April/May 2024 and three straight in March 2025.
The only deal made on Monday’s trade deadline day was between these teams with the Frost acquiring defender Jincy Roese from the Sirens in exchange for forward Denisa Křížová. Roese, who will wear number 19 tonight before switching to 33 for the remainder of the season, had six assists in 22 games with New York. Křížová played 77 career games with the Frost and is a two-time Walter Cup champion, recording five of her 20 career points in 23 games this season (1G, 4A).
Taylor Heise and Kelly Pannek took the league lead in points (23) with one each against the Fleet on Sunday. Heise is currently the only PWHL player with at least 20 points in both 2024-25 and 2025-26. Kendall Coyne Schofield needs two more points to join her.
Coyne Schofield returned to the Frost lineup on Sunday and recorded two assists after missing seven games following the Olympics with an upper-body injury. Before the break, she scored a goal and an assist in each of her last two road games, including Jan. 16 with the overtime winner at Prudential Center.
Pannek has scored two of her league-high 12 goals this season against New York, including one of her league-leading five on the power play. She leads the league with a 25% shooting percentage, among players with more than three shots.
Grace Zumwinkle scored twice when these teams met in the Denver Takeover Tour game in March. She has five points in three games against the Sirens this season, and her 13 career points are third most against New York all-time. She is one point behind Laura Stacey for the most against the Sirens this season, but the 1.67 points per game average is the highest against the Sirens.
New York’s last win came at Prudential Center back on Mar. 8 against Ottawa where they scored a season-high six goals, including three in the first period for the first and only time in 2025-26. They also scored three goals in the third period, a number they replicated against Minnesota on Mar. 15, and are tied for second in the PWHL with 22 goals in the final frame.
The Sirens’ four-game losing streak, all in regulation, is one shy of the team’s longest all time (February 2025). The Sirens have scored a goal in each of the four losses, tied for the longest streak of regulation losses in games with a goal in PWHL history (with the Charge in December this season).
Casey O’Brien scored the Sirens’ lone goal in their loss to the Victoire, returning from a two-game absence due to injury, and extended her point streak to three games (1G, 3A). She is tied with Haley Winn for the PWHL rookie lead (16) and has scored 15 of those points since Dec. 21, tied with teammate Sarah Fillier for third most in the league behind Heise (21) and Pannek (17). She leads all rookies with 197 faceoff wins, 132 more than the next highest rookie, and one shy of the rookie record set by Gabbie Hughes during the inaugural season.
Fillier had a season-high two goals and three points in New York’s last game at Prudential Center on Mar. 8 and has five points (4G, 1A) in her last five games overall. She has five shots on goal in each of her last two games and is up to 77 on the season, which ranks sixth among all skaters.
Anna Bargman had a career-high goal and an assist when these teams met in Denver. She is the only Siren with two goals in the season series, with her three points against the Frost accounting for half of her rookie total in 22 games.
The Sirens’ top two goal scorers are on LTIR in Kristýna Kaltounková (12G) and Taylor Girard (7G), with the pair accounting for 35% of the team’s goals this season.
As puck drops in Newark, Montréal is hosting Vancouver in Laval where the Victoire can clinch a playoff berth with a regulation win. They can also clinch with an overtime or shootout win, but only if the Sirens do not beat the Frost in regulation. With a win tonight, Minnesota could be in a position to clinch a playoff berth as early as Saturday.
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
“We are really excited adding Jincy Roese to our group. Facing New York, we know will be emotional for both teams but we are looking to put together a solid 60 minutes.” – Frost Head Coach Ken Klee
“We’re excited about adding Clair (DeGeorge) and Denisa (Křížová) to our group as both bring experience and a presence that will strengthen our forward unit right away. As the regular season winds down, every point matters and there’s urgency in our game now. But before results, our focus has to be on what we control - our habits, our execution, and our compete level. If we’re dialed in there, we’ll give ourselves a chance to get what we need.” – Sirens Head Coach Greg Fargo
WEDNESDAY’S GAME: It’s the second last Sirens game at Prudential Center this regular season as the Frost make their second visit to The Rock for the fourth game of the season series. No fooling around today, as the teams will play each other twice in 11 days as the head-to-head battle wraps up on Apr. 11 in Minnesota with critical points on the line. The first 2,000 fans through the doors tonight will receive an exclusive Barbie™ x New York Sirens Belt Bag, while quantities last. New York is celebrating Community Heroes tonight with activations to honor local healthcare workers, youth hockey trailblazers, and special recognition for defender Allyson Simpson’s ‘Shake On’ initiative in support of Parkinson’s disease research and awareness. Tonight, her father James — the reason Shake On exists — will perform the ceremonial puck drop, more than 10 years after his Parkinson's diagnosis. A portion of tickets sold tonight will benefit The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research, in addition to Simpson’s season-long pledge of $20 for every point she scores, every shot block, and every Sirens win. To help her surpass her $20,000 goal, visit shakeon.org to learn more and to donate.
