We recently caught up with Toronto Sceptres forward Clair DeGeorge over email to learn about how she's spent her offseason. Here's what we found out.

Where have you spent most of your summer?

I have been all over the place! Started visiting family across the US: Florida, Colorado and New Mexico. In late June and early July I spent vacation in Europe. Then spent the last portion of summer back home in Alaska to visit family and friends. Now I am in Boston for training and a little bit of work!

Did you go on vacation at all?

I went to vacation in Western Europe and visited a few countries, but my main trip was trekking the Tour du Mont Blanc. The hike starts in France and goes through Italy and Switzerland around the beautiful Mont Blanc. I stayed in Refugios, small mountain huts, each night and carried what I needed with me each day. I was on the trail for six days, hiking roughly 65 miles total. My favorite part was the quiet mornings when I got to hike while the sun was rising and none of the animals had been spooked away by people yet. I got very lucky with amazing weather!

Did you read any books?

I love to read but mostly during the season because I keep busy with enjoying the nice weather in the summer. I did manage to read “The Girl with Dragon Tattoo,” while on vacation (I had a five-hour delay for a flight and it saved my sanity), and it was AMAZING! One of the best mysteries/thrillers I have read since “The Silent Patient.”

Did you watch any good shows or movies?

Only movie I watched this summer was the new Formula 1 movie!

What’s your song of the summer?

I love throwbacks, so my song of the summer has been “I’m Alive” by Celine Dion.

What and where was the best meal you ate?

The best meal I had this summer was rockfish quesadillas in Seward, Alaska. It was at a food truck that I don’t remember the name of, but it was fresh-caught fish!

How many days of the week have you been on the ice?

Lately I’m back up to 3-4 times a week!

If you could be guaranteed to improve one element of your game this offseason, what would it be?

My face-offs.

The best thing about the 2025-26 Sceptres is going to be...

The meshing of all the new talent with the outstanding players already in Toronto!
