WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

Montréal has two overtime wins and one 4-0 victory heading into the fourth and final regular-season meeting between the teams. Minnesota has never gone a full season without winning at least one game (regulation, overtime or shootout) against an opponent.

The Victoire have points in nine straight games (5-2-2-0), a streak that began with an overtime win in St. Paul on Jan. 21. A point tonight would make them just the second team in PWHL history to post a 10-game point streak (Toronto, 11 in 2024).

Montréal fell to Ottawa, 2-1, in overtime in Winnipeg on Sunday, snapping their streak of seven consecutive games scoring at least three goals. Montréal is 8-2-1-1 when scoring at least three goals this season and 2-2-1-4 when failing to do so. Minnesota has scored three or more goals in 13 games and are a perfect 6-0-0-0 when doing so at Grand Casino Arena and have yet to surrender more than two goals on home ice.

Abby Roque picked up her 12th helper of the season in Sunday's loss, setting a new career high for assists and points (18). The only PWHL players with more assists this season are both on the Frost – Taylor Heise (15) and Britta Curl-Salemme (13). She enters tonight’s action with a three-game point streak (1G, 5A) and is two points shy of 50 for her career.

Laura Stacey has more points against the Frost than any other PWHL team with 13 (6G, 7A), including a goal and two assists this season, accounting for nearly a quarter of her 55 career points. In her last game, the PWHL shots on goal leader (93) became the first in league history to surpass 300 shots on goal for her career (301), 61 more than the next highest skater.

Hayley Scamurra, who won Olympic gold in Milan, led the Victoire with two assists against the Frost on Mar. 1, her first career multi-point performance. On Monday, the league’s number of 2026 Olympians climbed to 62 with Montréal signing defender Nadia Mattivi, who captained Italy.

Maggie Flaherty received her 2025 Walter Cup ring from Frost GM Melissa Caruso and Head Coach Ken Klee prior to Tuesday’s practice at TRIA. The Lakeville, MN, native has a career-high seven points in 21 games with the Victoire.

The Frost beat the Goldeneyes, 3-1, on Saturday in Vancouver. Since Jan. 4, Minnesota is 7-2-0-0 when facing any team other than Montréal and has scored at least three goals in all nine games. The Frost are 0-0-2-1 against Montréal in that span, scoring two or fewer goals in each game.

Minnesota has won four straight games at Grand Casino Arena, tied for the longest streak in team history at their primary home venue, and have won six of eight overall this season. They beat Montréal twice at home in the inaugural season but have lost three straight to them here over the last two seasons.

Kelly Pannek scored her league-leading 12th goal of the season on Saturday (tied with Rebecca Leslie), also her league-leading fifth power-play goal, after totaling just seven goals in 54 games across her first two PWHL seasons. The Frost alternate captain is one point shy of 50 for her career with points in five straight games (4G, 3A). Her seven post-Olympic points are tied with Stacey and Susanna Tapani for most in the PWHL in that span.

Curl-Salemme is also riding a five-game point streak (2G, 4A), tied for her career-high. The only players with six-game point streaks this season are on these two teams (Heise, Mae Batherson, Kendall Cooper, Marie-Philip Poulin).

Maddie Rooney has won seven straight starts for the Frost since falling in overtime to the Victoire on Jan. 4, despite making a career-high 35 saves. Her seven straight wins is tied with Aerin Frankel for the longest streak of the season and second longest all-time behind Kristen Campbell (Toronto, 11 in 2024). Ann-Renée Desbiens has started all three games of the season series for Montréal with a 0.97 GAA and .952 SV%.

Minnesota went 2-for-3 on the power play on Saturday. The Frost have 16 more power-play opportunities than they have been shorthanded, followed by Boston (+15). Montréal has had seven fewer power plays than times spent shorthanded.

The Frost have played the fewest amount of one-goal games in the PWHL this season with eight, while the Victoire are tied with the Fleet for the league lead with 12.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING

“We weren't that satisfied with the result, and, more importantly, how we played last game. So it's important for us to bounce back here. We know that Minnesota is a great team. We're neck and neck with them in the standings. And for us, it's about staying connected, staying present, and putting our best game forth, and I think we're ready to do that and excited to get back together on the ice and have a good game here in Minnesota.” – Victoire alternate captain Laura Stacey

“We are excited for a top matchup tonight against Montréal. They are a tough opponent, and we know that we will have to bring our best. We know that all points are important at this point in the season, and it starts with battling and focusing on the little things tonight.” – Frost forward Grace Zumwinkle

WEDNESDAY’S GAME: Two of the PWHL’s top three teams go head-to-head tonight at Grand Casino Arena with Minnesota and Montréal separated by just two points in the standings and nine games remaining. The first 4,000 fans through the doors tonight will receive an exclusive Barbie™ x Minnesota Frost Belt Bag, while quantities last. The Barbie themed night will include a special coloring station on the concourse level for fans. Before puck drop, a moment of silence will be observed in honor and remembrance of Jessi Pierce and her three children, Hudson, Cayden and Avery, who sadly lost their lives in a house fire on Saturday. Jessi has been a part of the Frost community since day one as a supporter, a voice, and most importantly as a friend, bringing joy, kindness and a passion for hockey to the rink, to the organization, and to all fans.
