WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW
Boston has won each of the last nine meetings between these teams (6-3-0-0), outscoring the Sirens, 31-13, in those games. It is the longest winning streak by one team against another in PWHL history and includes all four games at Prudential Center. New York’s last win against Boston came on March 25, 2024.
The Fleet beat the Charge, 3-2, in a shootout in Ottawa on Saturday. Each of Boston’s last three games have resulted in shootout wins – it is the first time in PWHL history a team has played three consecutive shootout games, regardless of outcome. The Fleet have also had eight straight one-goal decisions after opening the season with seven straight games decided by multiple goals.
Alina Müller, fresh off scoring the bronze medal-winning goal for Switzerland in Milan, had a power play goal and an assist in Ottawa on Saturday. Boston’s alternate captain has six points (2G, 4A) in her last four games, and her four-game assist streak is tied for the longest in Fleet history.
Megan Keller, Team USA’s golden goal scorer, recorded an assist and logged 29:17 in ice time against the Charge, then immediately traveled to New York for her Saturday Night Live debut with Hilary Knight less than seven hours later. The Fleet captain has recorded a point in all seven of the team’s road games this season, the league’s longest streak in 2025-26.
Keller and fellow Fleet Olympic gold medalists Aerin Frankel and Haley Winn performed the ceremonial puck drop at Prudential Center last night before the New Jersey Devils beat the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Devils hosted the players in a suite for the game.
On Monday, the Fleet hosted an Olympic Celebration at View Boston welcoming more than 600 fans along with Governor Maura Healey and Mayor Michelle Wu. The City of Boston officially proclaimed Mar. 2 as Boston Fleet Day, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts proclaimed Mar. 2 as U.S. Women’s Hockey Day, and a declaration was issued naming Mar. 17 as Boston Fleet Olympic Medalist Day in Boston.
The Fleet have allowed five total goals in each of the first and second periods this season, both the fewest in the league. They have allowed more than that combined in the third period – 13 goals – but that still ranks third fewest in the PWHL.
New York has already set a team record with 11 points at Prudential Center in eight games. Last season, they recorded 10 points in 13 games at their primary home venue but won four games compared to their three wins thus far.
The Sirens fell to the Victoire, 4-1, at home last Thursday. It snapped a six-game point streak in home games (4-0-2-0), including Takeover Tour games, the longest in team history. It also snapped a streak of 10 consecutive games with multiple goals, also the longest in team history.
Casey O’Brien scored the Sirens goal last Thursday on the power play and is riding a career-high four-game point streak (1G, 3A). She leads all rookies with three PPG and is tied for the rookie lead with five points with the player advantage. Nine of her 12 points this season have come in home games.
Sarah Fillier picked up an assist on New York’s lone goal last Thursday, her 10th of the season, second most in the league (Taylor Heise, 13). Despite only playing in two of the team’s three seasons, Fillier’s 26 career assists are the most in team history. The Sirens alternate captain needs four more points to take over the team’s all-time record.
Kristýna Kaltounková recorded her third multi-goal game of the season when these teams last met on Jan. 28, a category she leads with Ottawa’s Rebecca Leslie. The league’s top three rookie goal scorers are on both of these teams with Kaltounková (11), O’Brien (5) and Boston’s Abby Newhook (5) who has scored in two straight games.
Kaltounková joined Emmy Fecteau and Olivia Knowles at Madison Square Garden on Monday where they were recognized during the New York Rangers Women’s Empowerment Celebration. Rookie Maddi Wheeler also spent Tuesday evening at the ‘Skate with the Greats’ charity event with Ronald McDonald House and the Rangers. The Sirens donated autographed memorabilia to help raise funds for RMH families with children who are in their care.
The Sirens enter tonight’s game outside of the playoff picture for the first time in the 2026 calendar year. This is also the first game all season where the Fleet are not in first place or tied for the league’s top spot at puck drop.
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
“We're excited to face New York again. Going into this game, we want to stick to our game and what's made us successful. Our identity as a team is being hard to play against and I think we've done a great job at that so far this season by relying on the depth in our roster.” - Fleet goaltender Aerin Frankel
“Our group knows exactly the game we need to play. The last one didn’t go the way we wanted, but our focus hasn’t shifted — we love playing in front of our fans, and we understand the standard it takes to beat a talented team like Boston. This is Game Three of our four-game series, and we’re excited about the opportunity to build momentum here at home.” – Sirens Head Coach Greg Fargo
THURSDAY’S GAME: New York welcomes Boston to Prudential Center for the second and final time this regular season as part of a three-game post-Olympic homestand that wraps up Sunday afternoon against Ottawa at The Rock. The teams will play their final game of the season series on the last day of the regular season schedule on Apr. 25 at the Tsongas Center. The first 2,000 fans through the doors tonight will receive a Kristýna Kaltounková Bobblehead, while quantities last, representing the second Sirens bobblehead giveaway of the season. Tonight’s game is on the heels of some exciting news announced by both teams, as tickets for the Sirens’ Apr. 4 home game at Madison Square Garden and the Fleet’s Apr. 11 home game at TD Garden are both officially sold out, reflective of the league’s record-breaking momentum.
