We recently caught up with PWHL Vancouver forward Jenn Gardiner over email to learn about how the local favorite spent her offseason. Here's what we found out.

Where have you spent most of your summer?

I have spent the summer at home where I grew up in Surrey, B.C.!

Did you go on vacation at all?

I spent 10 days coaching at camps on Vancouver Island in Port Alberni as well as a week in Whitehorse, Yukon! I also got to head up to my cabin in the Okanagan Valley multiple times and spent a weekend on the Sunshine Coast in Sechelt. In Sechelt we saw a humpback whale and got to swim in the bioluminescence (if you don’t know what it is, it’s a must see)!! My favourite event of summer was hiking Goat Ridge in Chilliwack, B.C with my friend Jordyn! It was around 14km and took nine hours. It was one of the hardest hikes I have done but had such rewarding views at the top. There were six rope sections on the way up and a lot of distance along a cliff, but it was well worth the climb. At the very peak of Goat Mountain, we had 360-degree views of all surrounding mountains and three beautiful green lakes.

What’s your song of the summer?

"Sally, When the Wine Runs Out"—Role Model and "Miles on It"—Kane Brown

How many days of the week have you been on the ice?

I skated almost every weekday of July/August. I love skating and shooting pucks off the ice!

If you could be guaranteed to improve one element of your game this offseason, what would it be?

Getting my shot off quicker and through traffic!

The best thing about the 2025-26 PWHL Vancouver team is going to be...

My teammates! We have such an incredible group of players and staff that I am so honoured to be part of for the inaugural season at home in Vancouver. The entire province is SO ready to cheer on PWHL Vancouver in the Pacific Coliseum. I also can’t wait to be a tour guide and show everyone around the best province!
