VANCOUVER GOLDENEYES SELECT CAROLINE HARVEY FIRST OVERALL IN THE FIRST ROUND OF THE 2026 PWHL DRAFT

DETROIT, MI (June 17, 2026) – The Vancouver Goldeneyes has selected defender Caroline Harvey from the University of Wisconsin in the first round, first overall, of the 2026 PWHL Draft presented by Upper Deck, which is currently taking place at the Fox Theatre in Detroit, Michigan.  

Harvey completed her four-year collegiate hockey career at the University of Wisconsin in 2025-26, totaling 64 points (18G, 46G) in 33 games en route to a national championship. Harvey won the Patty Kazmaier Award and secured WCHA Player of the Year and WCHA Defender of the Year to cap her standout career with the Badgers. Across four years at Wisconsin, the 23-year-old native of Salem, NH, was named WCHA Defender of the Year and All-WCHA First Team two times and was an NCAA All-Tournament Team member four times. She registered 201 career points (54G, 147A) in 147 games and was instrumental in the Badgers’ run to three national championships during her time in Madison. On the international stage, Harvey has represented the United States at the last two Olympic Winter Games, earning a silver medal in 2022 and a gold medal in 2026 in Milan Cortino. She contributed a tournament-high-tying nine points (2G, 7A) and was named the 2026 Olympic Winter Games Tournament MVP. Harvey has also won five medals (two gold, three silver) competing at the IIHF Women’s World Championship.

The first two rounds of the 2026 PWHL Draft presented by Upper Deck is available in the U.S. on Scripps Sports platforms, including over-the-air television in select markets, nationally on Scripps FAST channel, Scripps Sports Network, and in Canada, on TSN2. ABOUT VANCOUVER GOLDENEYES 

The Vancouver Goldeneyes is part of the 12-team Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) and was announced in April 2025 as one of the league’s first two expansion clubs. The Vancouver Goldeneyes play its home games at the Pacific Coliseum, located on the property of the PNE. The PWHL was founded in 2023 and began its inaugural season in January 2024, featuring the best women’s hockey players in the world.
