We recently caught up with Toronto Sceptres forward Natalie Spooner over email to find out how she's spent her offseason. Here's what we learned.
Where have you spent most of your summer?
I spent the first part of my summer traveling to Africa and relaxing at our cottage in Muskoka, and the second half training at home.

Did you read any books?
Yes, I read “It Starts With Us” — the sequel to "It Ends With Us" by Colleen Hoover. Other than that, I read lots of children’s books. "Winnie the Pooh" and "The Three Little Pigs" were big favorites in our house this summer!
What was the best show or movie you watched?
“The Summer I Turned Pretty.”
What’s your song of the summer?
“Pink Pony Club.”
What and where was the best meal you ate?
Breakfast in the Serengeti—with hippos nearby. Definitely unforgettable!
How many days of the week have you been on the ice?
Most weeks, I’ve been on the ice three days a week.
If you could be guaranteed to improve one element of your game this offseason, what would it be?
My first-three-step speed!
The best thing about the 2025–26 Sceptres is going to be…
Getting to play in front of our fans again at Coca-Cola Coliseum!
