OTTAWA, ON (January 2, 2026) – USA Hockey announced today that Ottawa Charge  goaltender Gwyneth Philips and defender Rory Guilday have been named to the 2026 USA Women’s National Hockey Team, which will compete at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games. Finland also announced its Olympic roster today, which includes Charge defender Ronja Savolainen and goaltender Sanni Ahola.

Both Philips, 25 years-old, and Guilday, 23, will be making their Olympic debuts after appearing a few times at Women’s World Championships with Team USA since the last Olympic cycle. Philips won a gold medal in 2025 and a silver medal in 2024, while Guilday is a three-time medalist, winning gold in 2023 and silver in 2022 and 2024.

Savolainen will compete in her third Olympics, having won bronze at both the 2018 and 2022 Winter Games, and has also represented Finland nine times at Women’s Worlds (one silver, five bronze medals). This will be Ahola’s first Olympics after competing in the last three World Championships where she backstopped her country to back-to-back bronze medals in the 2024 and 2025 tournaments.

Philips, who hails from Athens, Ohio, became the first goaltender to receive the Ilana Kloss Playoff MVP award last season with a 4-0-4 record with a 1.23 goals-against-average and a .952 save percentage. She never lost a game in regulation during the 2025 playoffs while leading the Charge to the PWHL Walter Cup Finals. She helped the Charge’s playoff push by compiling an 8-5-1 record, including two shutouts, in her rookie season with a 2.11 GAA and a .919 SV%. The former Northeastern University star was also finalist for PWHL Rookie of the Year and Goaltender of the Year and earned a spot on the PWHL’s All-Rookie Team.  This season, she leads the PWHL with 254 saves in eight games and has backstopped the Charge in all four of their wins.

Guilday, born in Chanhassen, Minnesota, is currently leading PWHL rookie scoring with six points (1G, 5A) in nine games. The 5’11” defender was the Charge’s first-round pick (5th overall) at the 2025 PWHL Draft. Prior to joining the Charge, she was Cornell University’s captain for two seasons, earning All-Ivy League honours on three occasions including two straight First-Team nods. She capped a four-year tenure at Cornell University by producing 52 points (19G, 33A) in 106 games.

Savolainen, 28, was one of Ottawa’s three protected players before the 2025 PWHL Expansion Draft. She was second in scoring amongst Charge defenders with 11 points (2G, 9A) in 28 games and led the team with a differential of +11 during the regular-season. She currently has one goal and two points after nine games this season.

Ahola, 25, was Ottawa’s fifth-round pick in the 2025 PWHL Draft. She has appeared in one regular-season game in Seattle, surrendering three goals on 23 shots.

Philips and Guilday will join 14 other PWHL players chosen to represent Team USA at the 2026 Milano Cortina 2026 Women’s Ice Hockey Tournament scheduled for Feb. 5-19. Savolainen and Ahola are two of four PWHL players on Finland.

The 2025-26 PWHL regular-season schedule will take a pause for the Olympics following games on Jan. 28 and then resume games beginning Feb. 26.
