We recently caught up with recently acquired New York Sirens forward Kristin O'Neill over email to find out how she's spent her offseason. Here's what we learned.
Where have you spent most of your summer?
I have spent the majority of my summer in Montréal.
Did you go on vacation at all?
I went to Hawaii in June, my partner and I spent a week in Kauai and it was one my favorite places I have ever visited. I also spent weekends at my family’s cottage on Lake Huron, in the Adirondacks, and went to two weddings in Maine!
What was your favorite vacation?
Hawaii was spectacular. And my cottage is also one my favorite places to be.

Did you see any concerts?
I have not seen any yet this summer but I am going to a Mt. Joy concert later this month that I am super excited about!
Did you read any good books?
Yes, I’ve been really into mystery novels this summer. One of my favorites was "The Drowning Woman;" it was a bit dark but very intriguing.
Did you watch any good shows or movies?
I have been watching the last season of "The Bear" recently and it’s one of my favorite shows because it inspires me to want to make delicious meals!
What's your song of the summer?
"Nice To Each Other" by Olivia dean has been stuck in my head all summer!
What and where was the best meal you ate?
How many days of the week have you been on the ice?
It’s definitely geared up a little recently. It started with twice a week for a month or so, and now I am up to three or four times per week.
If you could be guaranteed to improve one element of your game this offseason what would it be?
It would probably be deception. Deception in my change of speed and ability to beat people different ways. It’s definitely fun to work on but very difficult to implement at a high pace!
The best thing about the 2025-26 Sirens is going to be...
Getting to know 25 or so new people and working towards a common goal, the Walter Cup! Also I am so excited to explore NYC with my teammates.
