ST. PAUL, MN (June 20, 2026) – The Minnesota Frost today announced that forwards Claire Butorac and Klára Hymlárová have each been re-signed to one-year Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) Standard Player Agreements through the 2026-27 season. The signings were initiated during Phase 5 of the PWHL’s Expansion Player Distribution Process that provided existing teams an exclusive window to re-sign their own players on expiring contracts ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

Butorac tallied three assists across 30 appearances in the 2025-26 campaign, bringing her three-year total to 12 points (3G, 9A) in 80 career games. The Andover, MN native has been a part of both Frost Walter Cup championships, adding three points (1G, 2A) across 21 postseason appearances. Prior to her time with Minnesota, the 26-year-old was a two-time captain for Minnesota State Mankato, ending her Mavericks’ career with 56 points (21G, 35A) in 153 games.

Hymlárová closed out her second season with Minnesota by tallying a career-high eight points (3G, 5A) in 29 appearances, reaching 10 career points (4G, 6A) in 58 games. The St. Cloud State product selected in the third round of the 2024 PWHL Draft helped capture the Frost’s second Walter Cup, amassing five points (1G, 4A) in the 2025 PWHL Playoffs, and added two assists in five postseason games in 2026. Hymlárová made her second consecutive Olympic appearance for Czechia in Milan and has played in eight IIHF Women’s World Championships, earning bronze in 2022 and 2023.

The Frost now have 10 players under contract for the upcoming season with Butorac and Hymlárová joining fellow forwards Kelly Pannek, Taylor Heise, Grace Zumwinkle and Dominique Petrie, defenders Lee Stecklein, Sidney Morin and Natalie Buchbinder, and goaltender Maddie Rooney. The 2026 PWHL Draft presented by Upper Deck took place on Wednesday where the team selected six players in the six-round process.
