ST. PAUL, MN (August 3, 2026) – The Minnesota Frost today announced the signing of goaltender Daria Gredzen to a one-year Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) Standard Player Agreement for the 2026-27 season. Gredzen was selected in the fifth round, 57th overall, in the 2026 PWHL Draft, and is the first member of the team’s six-player draft class to sign.
Gredzen has spent the past seven seasons competing in her native Russia for Biryusa Krasnoyarsk of the Zhenskaya Hockey League (ZhHL) and retained a .931 save percentage across 187 career appearances. The 22-year-old earned Best Player honors during the 2023-24 season, notably leading the league with seven shutouts and helping her team compete in its first championship final. She went on to earn Goaltender of the Year during the 2024-25 campaign with a career-high 26 wins in 40 games along with a 1.89 goals-against average and .939 SV%.
Hailing from Novosibirsk, Russia, Gredzen has Olympic experience from Beijing 2022 where she made two appearances and was the youngest player on the ROC roster at age 17. At age 14, Gredzen appeared in five of Russia’s six games in the 2019 IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship.
The Frost roster now has 16 players under contract for the upcoming season, with Gredzen joining fellow goaltenders Marlène Boissonnault and Maddie Rooney.
