NEW YORK AND TORONTO – Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) teams will open training camps ahead of the 2026-27 season on Wednesday, Nov. 18, following the completion of the 2026 IIHF Women’s World Championship taking place in Denmark from Nov. 6-16. As part of preseason roster building and evaluation, each of the PWHL’s 12 teams will compete in two scrimmages hosted across five different PWHL markets between Nov. 22-30.
Three of the league’s four expansion teams will host preseason scrimmages, including PWHL Hamilton at Morgan Firestone Arena with PWHL Detroit, the Ottawa Charge, and the Toronto Sceptres in attendance. PWHL Las Vegas will welcome the Minnesota Frost and Vancouver Goldeneyes to America First Center, and PWHL San Jose will play the Seattle Torrent at Tech CU Arena. The Sceptres will also host the Charge at Toronto’s Mattamy Athletic Centre, and the Boston Fleet will host the Montréal Victoire and New York Sirens at Boston Sports Institute.
All preseason scrimmages will be 60 minutes of full stoppage gameplay with 21-player lineups, followed by a 3-on-3 overtime and a shootout, regardless of the score. Live stats will be available at thepwhl.com along with updates across league and team social media channels.
PWHL training camp rosters will be announced the week of Oct. 5, with each team inviting between 28-32 players.

Details regarding fan access to preseason scrimmages will be announced at a later date by host teams. Media access to preseason scrimmages, training camp schedules, including practices and media availability sessions, will be communicated locally in advance.
