WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

This is just the second meeting between these teams after the Torrent won 2-1 at home on Dec. 23. This is the only matchup in the league that has not had at least two games played this season and will be the first time either of the league’s two expansion teams will play at Place Bell.

The Torrent fell to the Sceptres, 2-0, in Toronto on Sunday for their sixth straight road loss. Seattle has allowed multiple goals in 12 of its 13 games since beating Montréal 2-1 on Dec. 23 and lost the other game 2-1 in a shootout (2-1-1-9 during streak).

Danielle Serdachny had a career-high seven shots on goal on Sunday and has 16 shots over her last three games (5.3 per game) while producing a goal and an assist. She had 28 shots on goal in her first 16 games this season (1.9 shots per game).

Julia Gosling had a goal and an assist the last time these teams met, her third of four multi-point performances this season. She is one of 12 players with four or more multi-point games and ranks fourth in the PWHL with 73 shots on goal.

Alex Carpenter scored one of her team leading seven goals this season against Montréal and has nine points in 10 career games against the Victoire (5G, 4A). The Torrent alternate captain leads the league in faceoff wins with 269, 58 more than the next closest skater and 24 more than her previous high from the inaugural season in five fewer games.

Carpenter, who won Olympic gold with Team USA, and Czech captain Aneta Tejralová helped unveil the Hockey Hall of Fame’s new Olympics ’26 exhibit on Monday in Toronto. The exhibit features artifacts from Milan including both golden goal pucks from the women’s and men’s finals.

Four Torrent players are former Victoire returning to Place Bell for the first time. Mariah Keopple (53 GP) and Mikyla Grant-Mentis (37) were here two seasons, and 2024 first-round pick Cayla Barnes and fifth-rounder Anna Wilgren were both named to the PWHL All-Rookie Team on defense last season.

Theresa Schafzahl will make her Torrent debut tonight after being acquired in a trade with the Fleet for Jessie Eldridge on Monday. The third-year Austrian forward will play her second straight game at Place Bell following Boston’s win on Sunday.

Montréal lost to Boston, 4-3, in overtime at home on Sunday, surrendering four unanswered goals in the third period and extra frame. The Victoire have scored at least three goals in six consecutive games, the second-longest such streak in PWHL history (Toronto, eight games from Jan. 25 – Feb. 19, 2025).

The Victoire have points in seven straight games (4-2-1-0) since Jan. 21, the longest active point streak in the PWHL and tied for the longest in team history (Jan. 10 to Feb. 4, 2024).

Abby Roque scored one of Montréal’s goals on Sunday and assisted on the other two. She entered the game on a four-game pointless streak, tied for the longest streak of her career. Her three points tied a career high, set on Feb. 4, 2024 and matched on Nov. 25 of this season (both games with 1G, 2A).

Marie-Philip Poulin scored for the second straight game and has a point in each of her last four games (3G, 1A). She assisted on Roque’s goal when these teams met on Dec. 23, one of nine times the duo have connected on a goal.

Laura Stacey, who also assisted on Montréal’s lone goal in the first meeting of the season series, has nine assists this season to co-lead the Victoire. She is one away from reaching double digit assists in consecutive seasons, a mark which only five other PWHL players have reached in league history.

Nicole Gosling recorded the first multi-point game of her career on Sunday. Her next point will be her 10th, a mark met by only four rookie defenders in league history, including Barnes (13) who set the top rookie mark last season.

The U SPORTS National Championship begins today, a tournament won by Victoire forwards Catherine Dubois and Alexandra Labelle with the Montréal Carabins in 2016. Concordia’s Jessymaude Drapeau was named Player of the Year last night, joining former Brodrick Trophy winners Jade Downie-Landry (McGill 2022), tonight’s English broadcast analyst Ann-Sophie Bettez (McGill 2012) and Victoire Business Operations Director Kim St-Pierre (McGill 2003).

It’s also Frozen Four week and eight Torrent and six Victoire players competed for teams in contention for the NCAA crown: Wisconsin (5), Northeastern (4), Ohio State (4), Penn State (1).

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING

“I liked our 60-minute effort against Toronto—it was a complete game built from the net out, and you could feel the group’s commitment to each other. That’s something we want to carry with us into Montréal. We know Montréal is a tough, defensive team that competes hard every shift, so this will be a game where we have to earn everything. For us, it’s about staying detailed, taking pride in our own end, and being ready to compete for every inch of ice.” – Torrent Head Coach Steve O’Rourke

"Seattle is a great team, and unfortunately for them, they have a bit of injuries right now. And they made that big trade, which is a big piece to the puzzle for them offensively, so I think that they're going to be hungry for three points, and that's what I said to our group after practice. We've got to surpass that level of desperation." - Victoire Head Coach Kori Cheverie

THURSDAY’S GAME: Montréal welcomes Seattle to Place Bell for the first of two visits this season in the Victoire’s final home game of the month and the Torrent’s third of a five-game stretch away from home. It’s the Victoire's Sugar Shack Soirée presented by Good Protein, a Québec spring tradition where friends and family gather for a good meal which includes maple products, along with a good time. Fans are invited to wear their best flannel outfits to mark the occasion. Upon exit, all fans will receive a sample of Maple Cookie Good Protein. Canadian Olympians who have returned home from the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 will be in the building tonight, including dual moguls gold medalist Mikaël Kingsbury, mixed team relay silver medalist William Dandjinou, and snowboard cross silver medalist Eliot Grondin. The trio will meet fans at the Intact Insurance booth during intermissions. Stéphanie Khalil will be performing the national anthems.
