WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

This will be the fourth and final meeting of the regular season between these teams, with the home team winning each of the first three, all by multiple goals, and the last two by shutouts. Vancouver’s 4-0 win on Dec. 6 was its first-ever shutout, while New York earned the second of their three season shutouts in the New Year’s Eve matinee. Seven of the Sirens’ 20 games this season have featured shutouts, most in the PWHL.

The Sirens fell to the Frost, 4-3, in a Takeover Tour game in Denver on Sunday. It was the fourth game this season in which they scored at least three goals and suffered defeat, most in the PWHL (5-0-2-2 when scoring three goals).

All three of New York’s goals came in the third period on Sunday. The Sirens have scored 21 third-period goals this season, second most in the PWHL (Ottawa, 22), while scoring 13 goals in each of the first and second periods. Vancouver’s 19 third period goals are third most, and more than the 15 they have scored in both of the first two periods combined.

Anna Bargman logged a career-high 10:20 of ice time in Sunday’s game and also secured her first multi-point game as a pro with a goal and an assist. New York is now 5-0-2-1 when Bargman records at least 5:30 of ice time and 2-0-1-8 when she plays and does not reach that mark. She is the fifth Sirens rookie with at least five points this season, most in the PWHL.

Allyson Simpson has goals and points in consecutive games for the first time in her career (2G, 1A) after a 15-game drought, and fellow defender Jaime Bourbonnais has three assists in New York’s last two games, including a multi-assist effort on Sunday.

Anne Cherkowski (Coldstream) and Micah Zandee-Hart (Saanichton) return to their home province to play before family and friends at Pacific Coliseum. The rookie has two assists and the captain has one helper so far in the season series, two of 15 Sirens with points against Vancouver.

Nicole Vallario will be in the Sirens lineup for the first time since Dec. 3 and since winning Olympic bronze with Switzerland. The rookie defender scored on the first shot of her PWHL debut against the Goldeneyes on Nov. 29 and was signed to a 10-day contract today with forward Taylor Girard placed on LTIR.

Vancouver lost to Ottawa, 3-2, in overtime at home on Saturday, its second straight overtime loss and third straight one-goal loss. The Goldeneyes are now 2-1-4-2 in one-goal/shootout games this season – only New York has more combined such losses (3-0-3-4).

One of two losing streaks will end tonight, as the Goldeneyes are winless in three straight homes games and the Sirens are winless in three straight road games. A win for either team would be just the second of its kind in the 2026 calendar with Vancouver last winning at home on Jan. 22 and New York last winning on the road Jan. 6, both shutouts against Toronto.

Sarah Nurse scored for Vancouver on Saturday, her first goal since the Olympic break. Despite being limited by injury this season, the Goldeneyes alternate captain has eight points (5G, 3A) in her eight games and is one of 10 PWHL players all-time with 20+ goals and 20+ assists.

Sophie Jaques also scored for the Goldeneyes on Saturday, her first in eight games. She leads all skaters with three points in the season series (1G, 2A) and has seven points against New York in her career (1G, 6A). Abby Boreen scored two of Vancouver’s four goals, and two of her four goals this season, the last time the teams met at Pacific Coliseum on Dec. 6.

Kristen Campbell made her Goldeneyes debut against the Sirens in Newark on Nov. 29 and has started back-to-back games. She has six wins in 10 career starts against New York, second behind her seven wins in 10 starts against Montréal.

Madison Samoskevich and her twin brother are playing in Vancouver on consecutive nights. The Goldeneyes rookie joined mother Patty and sister Melissa at Rogers Arena Tuesday to see Mackie, a third-year NHLer hit the ice for the Florida Panthers in a 5-2 loss to the Canucks.

It’s Frozen Four week and seven Goldeneyes and six Sirens players competed for three of the four programs in contention for the NCAA crown including seven from Ohio State, five from Wisconsin, and one from Penn State. Vancouver’s Jenn Gardiner and New York’s Lauren Bernard were both members of Ohio State’s two titles in 2022 and 2024, with Jaques, Gabby Rosenthal, Clair DeGeorge and Paetyn Levis on the 2022 squad.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING

“Playing in Vancouver is a great challenge, and one we’re excited for. The key for us is being ready from the start, our starts set the tone for everything. When we’re at our best, we’re connected, supporting each other all over the ice, and elevating our game together. That’s the standard we’re aiming for tonight.” – Sirens Head Coach Greg Fargo

“I think we (Miller, Izzy Daniel and Sarah Nurse) have been generating a lot of offensive chances, and I think the expectation for myself and from all of us is that we can produce, that we produce night in and night out. It's pressure, but I think it's good, and it's something that we all want. I have a pretty big extended family, so I have a decent group coming out for the game. I think it will be pretty cool for them, seeing mini bobbleheads of me all around. It's special.” – Goldeneyes forward Hannah Miller

WEDNESDAY’S GAME: Vancouver welcomes New York to Pacific Coliseum for the second time and the fourth and final game of the head-to-head regular-season series. It’s the fourth of a five-game post-Olympic homestand for the Goldeneyes, and second of a four-game road trip for the Sirens. Tonight’s game is presented by Scotiabank and the first 6,000 fans through the doors will receive a Hannah Miller Bobblehead, while quantities last. The Goldeneyes are proud to welcome She's Got Next, a nonprofit professional women’s network, to tonight’s game, joined by UBC students for a "career in sports" experience. They will attend a private pre-game panel hosted at Pacific Coliseum before enjoying the game. Anthems will be performed by Tyson Venegas from Port Moody, BC, who made the final 10 in American Idol Season 21 as a 17-year-old in 2023. He has history on the PNE grounds, previously winning a local singing competition at age 7 (a contest previously won by fellow BC musicians Michael Buble and Carly Rae Jepsen). He is just the fourth Canadian to become an American Idol Top 24 semifinalist, and only the second Canadian to ever be a finalist.
