WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

Montréal can clinch first place for the second straight season with a win of any kind. They would become the first team in PWHL history to record a win in 11 different venues in a single season, already tying the record of 10, set by Toronto in the league’s inaugural season and matched by Boston this season.

The Torrent took the first meeting between these teams with a 2-1 win at home, but Montréal won the next two, both 4-1 decisions at home. Laura Stacey scored three goals and five points across the three games against Seattle – she has four goals in 26 games against all other opponents and was held off the scoresheet for the first time in seven games Tuesday.

The Victoire lost to the Goldeneyes, 4-3, in Vancouver on Tuesday, snapping their PWHL record 16-game point streak (11-3-2-0 during streak). It was just the fourth time this season Montréal has allowed more than two goals – every other team has done so at least six times.

Hayley Scamurra had a natural hat trick in the third period on Tuesday in a span of 2:44, the fastest hat trick in league history and the first by a player in a losing cause. The U.S. Olympian also had a pair of goals against Vancouver on Apr. 1 but has scored three goals in her 27 other games this season.

Marie-Philip Poulin and Maureen Murphy both return to action tonight after missing 10 and nine games, respectively, on LTIR. The Victoire captain had a four-game point streak (3G, 1A) through Mar. 15 and is three points shy of a third straight 20-point campaign. She entered today’s action with a one-point lead in all-time scoring with 66 career points.

Nicole Gosling has points in five straight games (1G, 6A), points in eight straight road games, and entered the day tied for the lead among rookie defenders with 18 points. Lina Ljungblom is riding a four-game point streak (1G, 4A).

Ann-Renée Desbiens has started all three games of the season series with a 1.35 GAA and .945 SV%, earning two of her 18 wins against Seattle. If she starts, she’ll need a win to tie Boston’s Aerin Frankel at 19 and a shutout to keep pace with the U.S. netminder who posted her record eighth of the season this afternoon against New York.

Seattle is competing with Vancouver in the Gold Plan standings to earn the first overall pick in the 2026 PWHL Entry Draft. The Torrent can earn the first overall draft pick with a regulation win or a Goldeneyes loss of any kind, or with an OT/SO win combined with an OT/SO win by the Goldeneyes.

The Torrent have matched their season-high with points in two straight games, scoring five goals in three of their last four games including a 5-4 win against Minnesota on Wednesday. Prior to that, Seattle had one game in team history with five or more goals (6-4 win vs. Toronto on Jan. 20).

Anna Wilgren has set a new career high for points in each of the last two games – two against Vancouver on Saturday, three against Minnesota on Wednesday. The former Victoire defender was the seventh skater to have a three-point game for Seattle though no player has done so twice.

Hilary Knight has goals in consecutive games for the first time as a member of the Torrent after having four goal-streaks in 2024-25 with Boston. The captain is one of five Seattle skaters with multiple points in the season series with two assists. She attended the TIME100 Gala Thursday in New York City after being named one of the 100 Most Influential People of 2026.

Alex Carpenter snapped a career-high four-game pointless drought Wednesday with a two-point performance, including the 30th goal of her career. The Torrent alternate captain has two goals against the Victoire this season and is one point away from becoming the first player in PWHL history with three consecutive 20-point seasons.

Julia Gosling has back-to-back assists to double her rookie season point total. She had the primary assist on the game tying goal and scored the winner against Montréal on Dec. 23 at Climate Pledge Arena. Her six power-play assists are tied for second in the PWHL, a total she shares with cousin Nicole.

Corinne Schroeder has three wins in her last four starts at Climate Pledge Arena and has not allowed more than two goals against in her last three home starts. Rookie Hannah Murphy has started all three games of the season series

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING

“I think that what's interesting about the final day of the season is that there's something on the line for every team, and that, in itself, creates competition between the two teams regardless of their positioning in the standing. I don't think our group is going to need any additional motivation, and I know Seattle won't need any additional motivation.” – Victoire Head Coach Kori Cheverie

“As we head into our final game of the season, there’s a lot on the line. They’re battling to secure first place, and for us, it’s about competing to earn the top pick through the PWHL’s Gold Plan. Going into this game, it’s not a time for reflection—that will come later—but there are two things that stand out. First, the impact the league has made in such a short time. The Gold Plan has kept teams pushing, competing, and playing with purpose every single night, and that’s been great for our players and our fans. Second, the incredible support we’ve felt from the city of Seattle. From day one, our fans have embraced this team, shown up with energy, and created an environment that our players are proud to play in. That connection has meant everything to our group. Now, the focus is simple—one more opportunity to compete, to play our game, and to finish strong together.” – Torrent Head Coach Steve O’Rourke

SATURDAY’S GAME: Just five days before the one-year anniversary of the PWHL’s Seattle expansion announcement, the Torrent will play the final game of their inaugural season, welcoming Montréal to Climate Pledge Arena. It’s the 120th and final game of the 2025-26 regular season, capping a four-game schedule with all eight teams in action for just the second time in league history in what will set a new PWHL single day attendance record. It’s the Torrent’s Pride Celebration Unity Game, presented by e.l.f. Cosmetics, designed to celebrate and uplift LGBTQ+ communities while reinforcing the PWHL’s commitment to inclusion, visibility, and belonging in sport. Through a combination of in-game programming, community partnerships, and storytelling, the game will highlight the impact of LGBTQ+ individuals across hockey and beyond, while creating a welcoming space for fans, players, and families.
