WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW
Minnesota has clinched third place and will face either Boston or Montréal in the playoff semifinals to begin defense of their back-to-back Walter Cup titles. The Frost have lost two straight games in regulation, previously losing their last five games in regulation prior to the inaugural playoffs. They entered last season’s playoffs with two straight regulation wins.
The Frost have won all three games between these teams in regulation, outscoring the Torrent 13-3 across the three games. Seattle has earned at least two points against every other PWHL team this season.
Minnesota was shut out, 2-0, at home on Sunday against Toronto. It was the third time they have been shut out since the beginning of March (13 games). They had been shut out five times in their 69 regular season games prior to this March. The Frost lead the league with a 3.0 goals per game average and have reached that total in eight of 15 games away from home.
Grace Zumwinkle led Minnesota with five shots on goal in Sunday’s shutout loss. It was her eighth game this season with at least four shots on goal – in the other seven, she had scored a combined eight goals. Three of her career-high 12 goals this season have been scored against Seattle, and in the last five games she’s found the scoresheet (in nine games) they have each been multi-point performances.
Britta Curl-Salemme has points in five straight road games (3G, 4A) including the Takeover Tour stop in Denver. She leads the season series with five points (5A), accounting for nearly a third of her 16 assists which rank second in the PWHL behind teammate Taylor Heise’s 17.
Heise, rookie Abby Hustler, and alternate captain Kelly Pannek, each have two goals and two assists this season against Seattle. Pannek, who leads the PWHL with 14 goals and 29 points, scored the first two goals against the Torrent in their Climate Pledge Arena debut on Nov. 28. She leads the league with at least one point in 20 games, and her current two-game drought is tied for her longest of the season.
Nicole Hensley earned a 30-save shutout in the Frost’s first visit to Seattle, her only appearance of the season series. She has exactly seven wins and one shutout in each of her first three PWHL seasons.
Seattle enters tonight with one point in the ‘Gold Plan’ standings with two remaining games, behind Vancouver’s three points earned in their regulation win against Montréal in the first of two post elimination games. The first overall pick in the 2026 PWHL Entry Draft will be earned by the team with the most ‘draft order points’ between the Torrent and Goldeneyes, however New York and Toronto (if eliminated tonight) are still in contention to improve their position in the draft order of selection based on points accumulated on Saturday.
The Torrent suffered a 6-5 overtime loss at home against the Goldeneyes on Saturday. PWHL teams are now 42-2-1-1 all-time in the regular season when scoring at least five goals in a game. Since Mar. 13, Seattle is 2-0-2-7, scoring a combined nine goals in those two wins, and a combined 10 goals in the nine losses, with five of those goals coming on Saturday.
Anna Wilgren scored twice for Seattle on Saturday, her first and second goals of the season. The defender is one of nine skaters to play in all 28 games for the Torrent, and her 26 penalty minutes lead the team. Saturday’s game ended her streak of five consecutive games with a penalty.
Cayla Barnes led the Torrent with three points on Saturday and has recorded five points in seven games since Mar. 25 (3G, 2A) after producing just two points in her first 21 games (2A). Seattle and Minnesota have the fewest goals by defenders with seven, however the Frost lead the league with 56 points from its defense, and the Torrent are tied for the least with 36.
Danielle Serdachny has two points in the season series to lead the Torrent offense against the Frost (1G, 1A). With nine points in her last nine games, she’s surged up to sixth in career scoring among second-year players with 24 points (9G, 15A).
Julia Gosling is one point away from 20 on the season and 30 for her career. Though she ranks fourth in the PWHL with 93 shots on goal, her 6.5% shooting percentage is second lowest among players with five or more goals (Laura Stacey, 6.2%).
Alex Carpenter has at least one point against all other PWHL teams this season except Minnesota. The Torrent alternate captain, who ranks sixth all-time with 60 career points, has been held off the scoresheet in four straight games for the first time in her PWHL career.
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
“We're looking forward to finishing these final two games on a high note. We know Seattle will be giving it their all for the final points of the season, and we are prepared for that. With that in mind, this is also the time for us to focus on fine tuning our own habits and details before playoffs.” – Frost Head Coach Ken Klee
“Saturday didn’t give us the result we wanted, but it reminded us why playing in front of our fans means so much. The energy in the building, especially the way they rallied behind CJ in her first game and chanted her name, was unforgettable. That kind of support fuels our group. Now, we shift our focus to Minnesota with purpose. We know what’s at stake over these next two games, and we’re committed to pushing for every point available. With our fans behind us we’re ready for the challenge ahead.” - Torrent Head Coach Steve O’Rourke
WEDNESDAY’S GAME: Seattle welcomes Minnesota to Climate Pledge Arena for the first time since the team’s inaugural home opener on Nov. 28 in the second to last home game for the Torrent and road game for the Frost this regular season. The first 6,000 fans through the doors tonight will receive an exclusive Barbie™ x Torrent Belt Bag, while quantities last. Another highlight of tonight’s activations is a first intermission scrimmage featuring the Sno-King Thunderbirds, the association coached by Torrent reserve and Seattle native Marah Wagner. Following tonight’s game, all eight PWHL teams will have just one game remaining in the 2025-26 regular season to be played as part of a four-game slate on Saturday.
