WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

Montréal embarks on their longest road trip of the season where they’ll play four games in 13 days. Their recent three-game home stand attracted 32,348 fans over a span of eight days, earning three straight wins and seven out of nine points.

The Victoire have won all four meetings with Toronto this season (two regulation, one OT, one shootout). The only PWHL team with more total victories against a single opponent this season is Boston against New York with six (four regulation, two shootout).

On Tuesday, Montréal beat Minnesota in a shootout, as the Victoire have earned two points in five of their six non-regulation games this season (83.3%). It is the second-highest such percentage in a PWHL season behind Toronto last season (100%).

Laura Stacey’s goal on Tuesday marked her fourth consecutive game with a goal, the longest streak of the season and tied for the longest in PWHL history. It also surpassed her career-long streak which was a three-gamer last season (Jan. 24 – Feb. 4).

Marie-Philip Poulin has been named one of the three stars of the game eight different times this season, including Tuesday. That is two more than the PWHL player with the next most this season (Hannah Miller – six).

Dominika Lásková played for the first time in 403 days on Tuesday, returning from an injury suffered last January. The Czech defender and 19th overall pick in the inaugural draft has never played a PWHL game in Toronto but is most familiar with the city having won an Isobel Cup with the PHF’s Toronto Six in 2023.

Toronto is playing at Coca-Cola Coliseum for the first time since a 3-1 win over Boston on Valentine’s Day. The Sceptres have won four straight home games, including three inside their primary home venue (two regulation, one OT), their longest ever win streak at Coca-Cola Coliseum.

Even though it’s been nine days, this marks the second of back-to-back games for the Sceptres against the Victoire following a 3-1 loss at Place Bell on Feb. 25. Last season, Toronto also had a nine-day break between consecutive games against Montréal and won both the Mar. 8 matchup at Mattamy Athletic Centre, 3-0, and the Mar. 17 game at Pittsburgh’s PPG Paints Arena, 2-1.

Four of Jesse Compher’s eight goals this season have come against Montréal, including three game-opening tallies. Compher has scored in four different games against the Victoire this season, tied for the most games with a goal against a single opponent by any PWHL player in 2024-25 with Hilary Knight against Minnesota.

The Sceptres have the league’s top three power play point producers in Miller (12), Renata Fast (11), and Daryl Watts (10). Toronto’s power play efficiency ranks first at 32.8% and was held off the scoresheet last week against the Victoire after converting in nine straight games.

Watts is tied for the league lead with 73 shots on goal and Stacey ranks fourth with 66 shots.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING

“I am very excited to finally play in Toronto after being on the road for the last couple of games. I already got to witness how amazing the Toronto fanbase is, so I can’t wait to get on the ice! It’s obviously very hard to win a game in this league if you only score one goal, so I think we must be better at capitalizing on our chances. Having faced off against Montréal in our last game, we are definitely very eager to change the outcome and get a win this time.” - Sceptres forward Laura Kluge.

"It definitely helped to get the two points on Tuesday before heading on the road. We know we have a monster schedule in front of us, but we're just taking it one day at a time. Luckily, the travel’s not too extensive in the league, but we're honestly just looking at it one game at a time right now." - Victoire Head Coach Kori Cheverie.

THURSDAY’S GAME: The Sceptres return home for the first time in 20 days and welcome the Victoire for the final time this regular season. Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital will be in attendance and fundraising for their Capes For Kids campaign, plus fans can look out for Hockey Hall of Fame trivia and admission coupons, and a giveaway from Schneider Electric! Intact Insurance welcomes the Scarborough Sharks to the game as part of their Community Impact Program, and players from the Peterborough Ice Kats and Durham West Lightning will participate in various activations during the game.
