The Vancouver Pride Unity Game is designed to celebrate Pride as a moment of visibility, belonging, and community, while recognizing the contributions of 2SLGBTQ+ athletes, leaders, and organizations across Vancouver. Developed in collaboration with local community partners, the game centers authenticity, inclusion, and representation, creating space for celebration, connection, and recognition throughout the PWHL game experience. Programming throughout the night highlights the role of 2SLGBTQ+ communities across all levels of sport and society, reinforcing the importance of visibility, access, and belonging both on and off the ice.

Vancouver’s Pride Unity Game will feature programming integrated throughout the full game experience, including:

  • Live ceremonial moments highlighting 2SLGBTQ+ voices and community representation
  • Community organization presence and engagement on the concourse
  • In-game recognition and storytelling celebrating 2SLGBTQ+ impact in sport and society
  • Featured in-arena entertainment spotlighting Vancouver’s 2SLGBTQ+ community
  • Post-game engagement opportunities connecting players and community partners

Pre-Game Moment

National Anthem - Stephen Scacia (Cutting Edges)
Stephen Scacia of Cutting Edges will perform the national anthem, representing a community initiative dedicated to advancing 2SLGBTQ+ inclusion and visibility within hockey. Their involvement reflects the impact of grassroots leadership in creating more accessible and affirming spaces within the sport.

The following organizations will be present throughout the game, with select groups featured on the concourse for direct fan engagement:

  • Cutting Edges

    Cutting Edges is a Vancouver-based LGBTQ+ hockey initiative that creates opportunities for queer athletes and community members to engage with the game in affirming and visible ways. Through programming, storytelling, and community events, the initiative works to challenge traditional norms in hockey while fostering a more inclusive culture within the sport.

  • Vancouver Pride Society (Concourse)

    Vancouver Pride Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to celebrating and advancing the visibility, rights, and well-being of 2SLGBTQ+ communities. Best known for producing the Vancouver Pride Festival and Parade, the organization also leads year-round initiatives focused on advocacy, community engagement, and cultural celebration.

    This Tournament Has Everything is a queer-led sports initiative that produces inclusive, community-centered tournaments designed to prioritize joy, accessibility, and participation.     Alphabet Sports Collective is a Canadian nonprofit organization dedicated to creating safer, more inclusive spaces for 2SLGBTQ+ individuals in sport.
