TORRENT VS. FLEET
SUNDAY, DEC. 21 | 2:00 PM PT

GET TICKETS

The Seattle Torrent Indigenous Peoples Celebration Unity Game is designed in partnership with local Native-led organizations to honor culture, celebrate community, and create meaningful opportunities for learning and connection. Throughout the night, fans will experience cultural performances, educational content, and opportunities to engage directly with Indigenous artists and organizations. All programming is developed collaboratively with community partners to ensure accuracy, respect, and cultural integrity.

The Seattle Torrent commissioned David Wilson, a Lummi artist, educator, and master carver based in Olympia, Washington, to create this year’s Indigenous Peoples Celebration Unity Game art piece.

Mr. Wilson has spent more than 30 years teaching Northwest Coastal carving traditions to tribal youth across the region, including students involved in Red Eagle Soaring and other Native education programs. As a respected elder and cultural educator, his work includes carvings, paddles, and regalia that celebrate and preserve Coast Salish artistic traditions.

This one-of-one, hand-carved wooden paddle is created in a coastal style and features a custom-painted Red Eagle Soaring x Seattle Torrent design. Commissioned specifically for the Torrent’s Indigenous Peoples Celebration Unity Game, the piece reflects cultural storytelling, mentorship, and community connection.

The paddle will be auctioned using The Realest auction platform, allowing fans to engage with the piece and support the cause directly. All auction proceeds will benefit Red Eagle Soaring, supporting Indigenous youth through culturally grounded education, leadership, and community programming.
