Through intentional programming and partnerships, the Seattle team aims to foster connection, representation, and belonging, both within the game experience and across the broader hockey community.

Pre-Game & On-Ice Moments

National Anthem – Yanna Lanae

The national anthem will be performed by Yanna Lanae, a GSBA Scholar, recognizing emerging talent within Seattle’s AANHPI community and uplifting young voices through sport and cultural celebration.

Ceremonial Puck Drop – Laura Clise

Laura Clise, Founder and CEO of Intentionalist, will take part in the ceremonial puck drop, recognizing her leadership in advancing economic opportunity and supporting diverse communities. Through Intentionalist, Laura has created a platform that uplifts small businesses owned by underrepresented entrepreneurs, encouraging more intentional and community-driven spending. Her work reflects a strong commitment to building more inclusive local economies and strengthening connections across communities.

Featured Artist – Kate Saylor

For AANHPI Heritage Month, Seattle-based artist Kate Saylor draws inspiration from her Chinese heritage through a piece rooted in the traditional idiom 鲤鱼跳龙门 (lǐ yú tiào lóng mén), meaning “The carp jumps over the Dragon Gate.” The story symbolizes perseverance and transformation, following a koi fish that continues to swim upstream and leap against a waterfall until it succeeds—ultimately transforming into a dragon. Originally born in Anhui province, Kate connects deeply to this story through her own journey. Once aspiring to become a doctor, she has since redefined success on her own terms and now works as a firefighter, artist, and photographer. Her work reflects themes of resilience, identity, and growth, bringing a meaningful cultural narrative to Seattle’s AANHPI Celebration Unity Game.

Intermission Programming

First Intermission - Musical Performance by Totem Star musicians

The first intermission will feature a dynamic cultural performance by Totem Star musicians, representing the next generation of AANHPI artists. Totem Star's musical group consists of young AANHPI artists- siblings Aydrian Kamu (Keys), Alyssa Kamu (Bass), as well as sibling members of Zje Mongol- Anu Batbaatar (Horsehead Fiddle), Temmujin Batbaatar (Horsehead Fiddle), and Temmulen Batbaatar (Mongolian flute), and Totem Star Artist Mentors Greg Fields (Drums) and Matt Sablan (Guitar). These Artists formed as a group upon becoming regular participants of The Jam, Totem Star’s monthly youth jam session at The Studio, hosted alongside Pioneer Square Art Walk on every First Thursday of the month. This performance blends traditional and contemporary sounds, showcasing the diversity and vibrancy of AANHPI musical expression.

Seattle’s AANHPI Celebration Unity Game will feature a strong presence from local organizations dedicated to cultural preservation, advocacy, and community support. All participating organizations will be featured on the concourse, creating opportunities for fans to engage directly with community leaders, learn about ongoing initiatives, and deepen their connection to AANHPI communities across Seattle. Participating organizations include:
