OTTAWA, ON (September 28, 2026) – The Ottawa Charge today announced its 2026-27 Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) regular-season home opener will be played on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. ET against the Toronto Sceptres, marking an exciting return to Canadian Tire Centre, the team’s new primary home. The Charge home opener is presented by Canadian Tire Corporation.
The game is one of six to be played across the league’s opening weekend where all 12 teams are in action Dec. 5-6. The Charge will later travel to compete in the home opener hosted by the Boston Fleet at Agganis Arena on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. ET, followed by another home opener hosted by new expansion PWHL Hamilton at TD Coliseum on Sunday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. ET. The complete regular-season schedule will be announced on Friday, Oct. 2.

The PWHL and CBC/Radio-Canada today announced the historic return of CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada that will provide comprehensive coverage for eight primetime PWHL games, including pre- and post-game panel analysis and accompanying digital content on cbcsports.ca and social media. Staying true to tradition, each Hockey Night in Canada game will feature a Canadian-based team. All national broadcast details will be announced as part of Friday’s schedule release.
