NEW YORK - The New York Sirens today announced that forward Denisa Křížová and defender Maja Nylén Persson have extended their Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) Standard Player Agreements by one-year each, with Křížová now signed through 2027-28 and Nylén Persson through the 2028-29 season.

The Sirens had previously re-signed Křížová to a one-year contract during the PWHL’s Expansion Player Distribution Process in June. The 31-year-old had joined New York at the trade deadline in March and appeared in seven games with the team, tallying one goal and one assist. Křížová won back-to-back Walter Cup titles with the Minnesota Frost and is a two-time Olympian and two-time World Championship bronze medalist representing Czechia.

Nylén Persson was originally signed to a three-year contract after being selected by the Sirens in the second round of the 2024 PWHL Draft, then inked a one-year extension last September. She appeared in all 30 games in 2025-26 after returning from an upper-body injury sustained midway through her rookie campaign and led the Sirens blue line with 11 points. The 25-year-old is a three-time Olympian and has also represented her native Sweden in five IIHF Women’s World Championships.

The Sirens training camp roster features 19 players currently under contract, with Nylén Persson one of six signed defenders and one of only two players signed through 2028-29 alongside forward Makenna Webster. Křížová is one of 10 signed forwards on the roster and one of 11 players signed beyond the 2026-27 season.
