BOSTON, MA (September 30, 2026) – The Boston Fleet, opens in a new tab announced today that the team has signed its first-round draft pick, defender Grace Dwyer, to a three-year Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) Standard Player Agreement through the 2028-29 season. Dwyer was one of five players and three defenders selected by the Fleet in the 2026 PWHL Draft and is the second of the group to sign ahead of the upcoming campaign.
“We couldn’t be more excited to sign Grace to a three-year contract with the Fleet,” said Boston Fleet General Manager Danielle Marmer. “As a physical, puck moving defender, Grace is a tremendous addition to our defensive core. While we’re confident her speed and skill level will make an immediate and positive impact on the ice, it’s exciting to look to the future knowing Grace has the opportunity to develop alongside Megan Keller and Haley Winn for years to come here in Boston.”
A native of Wynnewood, PA, Dwyer was selected 10th overall by Boston on June 17, following a standout four-year career at Cornell University. The 22-year-old appeared in 134 games for the Big Red earning 18 goals and 58 assists for 76 points on the blue line. Serving as captain during her senior season, Dwyer totaled 20 points (6G, 14A) in 33 games and earned First Team All-Ivy and ECAC Hockey Third Team honors while helping Cornell rank 12th in the NCAA in scoring defense. Internationally, Dwyer earned a silver medal with Team USA at the 2022 IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship.

Dwyer joins a Fleet lineup that now has 19 players under contract for the upcoming season, including fellow defenders Amanda Boulier, Rylind MacKinnon and second-round pick Leah Stecker, along with reigning PWHL Defender of the Year Megan Keller and Rookie of the Year Haley Winn. Dwyer, Stecker and Winn are the team's only three players signed through 2028-29.
