Montréal Victoire captain Marie-Philip Poulin was named the Ilana Kloss Playoff MVP tonight after leading her team to its first-ever PWHL Walter Cup. Poulin tallied eight points (4G, 4A) over the course of the playoffs, tying the record for most points in a playoff year. Included amongst those were two game-winning goals.
The 35-year-old Poulin, roundly known as "Captain Clutch," is the first Canadian captain to hoist the Walter Cup, and she also becomes another member of the storied Triple Gold Club, representing players who have won a Walter Cup championship, Olympic gold medal, and World Championship gold in their careers.
PWHL Awards Selection Committee: The awards selection committee features a cross-section of media representatives from across North America, PWHL general managers and coaches, PWHL broadcast talent, and the Professional Women’s Hockey League Players Association (PWHLPA). Voters submitted their top three selections for each award during the third period of Game 4, with five points awarded for a first-place vote, three points for a second-place vote, and one point for a third-place vote. Media ballots were developed in consultation with the Women’s Chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers Association.
