Sweden remain perfect, putting up six to down Italy. Toronto Sceptres forward Sara Hjalmarsson added two points to her Olympic total with a goal and an assist while Thea Johansson recorded two third-period goals and an assist, bringing her point total to four. Those three points ties her for the Olympic lead alongside Team USA’s Megan Keller and Germany’s Laura Kluge. Italy’s lone goal came from Franziska Stocker in the second period. Hjalmarsson’s Sceptres teammate, Kristin Della Rovere, finished minus-three on the night.
After two games and two dominant wins, Sweden sits atop Group B with six points. Italy finds itself in fourth place but tied on points with Germany and Japan, who sit second and third respectively. Sweden returns to action tomorrow at 10:40 a.m. ET against France, while Italy is back on the ice Monday morning at 6:10 AM ET against Japan.
