PWHL SEATTLE SIGNS DANIELLE SERDACHNY TO TWO-YEAR CONTRACT

Second overall pick in 2024 Draft becomes the second player to join the expansion team  

SEATTLE, WA(June 5, 2025) – PWHL Seattle today announced that forward Danielle Serdachny has agreed to terms on a two-year Professional Women’s Hockey League Standard Player Agreement to join the team through the 2026-27 season. Serdachny, who spent her rookie season as a member of the Ottawa Charge, is the second player to sign with PWHL Seattle ahead of the team’s inaugural campaign. 

“Danielle is a tremendous addition to our group,” said PWHL Seattle General Manager Meghan Turner. “She’s strong, plays through contact, and she’s only beginning to tap into her full potential. Her ability to possess the puck and make plays under pressure will be a big asset for us as we build the identity of PWHL Seattle.” 

Serdachny was chosen second overall by Ottawa in the 2024 PWHL Draft. In her rookie campaign, the forward scored in her PWHL debut on Nov. 30 and finished the season with two goals and six assists, tying for the team lead in rookie scoring. A native of Edmonton, AB, the 24-year-old Serdachny has represented Team Canada at three Women’s World Championships, capturing gold in 2024 and silver in 2023 and 2025. Notably, she scored the game-winning overtime goal in the gold medal game of the 2024 tournament in Utica. Collegiately, Serdachny played for the Colgate Raiders in the NCAA from 2019 to 2024, tallying 239 points (82G, 157A) in 180 career games and earned recognition as a top three finalist for the 2023 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award.

Serdachny joins a PWHL Seattle lineup that features the 2025 PWHL Points Leader Award co-winner –– and 2025 Forward of the Year and Billie Jean King MVP Award finalist –– Hilary Knight, who signed with the team on June 4.  

Expansion teams have been granted an exclusive window to sign a maximum of five players up until Sunday, June 8 at 5 p.m. ET. The 2025 Expansion Draft presented by Upper Deck will take place on Monday, June 9 at 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT on thepwhl.com and the league’s
YouTube channel. Seattle and Vancouver will select a minimum of seven players each until each has reached a 12-player roster.
