The Seattle Pride Unity Game is designed to celebrate and uplift LGBTQ+ communities while reinforcing the PWHL’s commitment to inclusion, visibility, and belonging in sport. Through a combination of in-game programming, community partnerships, and storytelling, the game will highlight the impact of LGBTQ+ individuals across hockey and beyond, while creating a welcoming space for fans, players, and families. This game reflects the Torrent’s ongoing efforts to foster environments where everyone can see themselves in the sport and feel a sense of pride and connection within the hockey community.

Seattle’s Pride Unity Game will feature programming integrated throughout the full game experience, including:

  • Pre-game ceremonial moments highlighting LGBTQ+ voices and community leaders
  • Live performances and entertainment tied to key moments throughout the game
  • A featured on-ice scrimmage showcasing LGBTQ+ participation and visibility in hockey
  • Community organization presence and engagement on the concourse
  • In-game storytelling and recognition of LGBTQ+ impact across sport and culture

Pre-Game Moment

National Anthem
The national anthem will be performed by the Seattle Men’s Chorus, one of the largest LGBTQ+ choruses in North America. Known for their powerful performances and commitment to using music as a platform for visibility and advocacy, the chorus has been a cornerstone of Seattle’s arts and LGBTQ+ communities for decades.

In-Game Programming

1st Intermission – Seattle Pride Hockey Association Scrimmage
The Seattle Pride Hockey Association will take the ice for a live scrimmage, highlighting inclusive access to hockey and creating visibility for LGBTQ+ participation in the sport. Through community-driven programming and league play, the organization creates spaces where players of all identities and skill levels can feel safe, supported, and empowered to participate.

2nd Intermission Zamboni Honoree – Cheer Seattle
During the second intermission, Cheer Seattle will be recognized as the Zamboni Honoree, celebrating their ongoing impact within Seattle’s LGBTQ+ community.

In-Game Entertainment – DJ VanBeasley
Seattle’s Pride Unity Game will also feature music by DJ VanBeasley, helping to bring energy and atmosphere to the arena throughout the game. Known within the Seattle scene for their dynamic sets and ability to blend genres, DJ VanBeasley has become a recognizable presence at community events and nightlife spaces. Their involvement adds to the celebratory environment of the game, keeping fans engaged and amplifying the overall Pride experience.

The following organizations will be present on the concourse, providing opportunities for fans to engage, learn, and connect:

  • The Trevor Project

    The Trevor Project is a leading nonprofit organization focused on suicide prevention and crisis intervention for LGBTQ+ young people. Through 24/7 crisis services, including phone, text, and chat support, as well as advocacy, research, and education, the organization works to create safer, more supportive environments for LGBTQ+ youth. Their work centers reducing isolation, increasing access to affirming resources, and ensuring that every young person has access to life-saving support when they need it most.

  • GSBA (Greater Seattle Business Association)

    GSBA is Washington State’s LGBTQ+ and allied chamber of commerce and is the largest of its kind in North America. We represent small business, corporate, and nonprofit members who share the values of promoting equality and diversity in the workplace. GSBA proudly serves as a connector across the region, bringing the community together through business while advocating for civil rights and small business, promoting LGBTQ+ tourism, and investing in the rising generation of leaders through the GSBA Scholarship & Education Fund.

  • Seattle Pride Hockey Association

    Seattle Pride Hockey Association is a nonprofit dedicated to building inclusive and affirming spaces for LGBTQ people and allies in the sport of hockey. Seattle Pride Hockey Association’s primary purpose is to create a safe space for all LGBTQ hockey players and fans.   • Lavender Rights Project

    The Lavender Rights Project is a Black-led legal and social services organization that works to uplift LGBTQ+ communities—particularly Black, Indigenous, and people of color, as well as transgender and gender-diverse individuals. Through direct legal services, advocacy, and community organizing, the organization addresses systemic inequities while expanding access to justice, safety, and essential resources.

  • Seattle Pride

    Seattle Pride is the nonprofit organization that produces the annual Seattle Pride Parade and Seattle Pride in the Park, along with year-round advocacy, arts, and youth programming.   • Alki Beach Pride

    Alki Beach Pride in West Seattle was created by two Black Queer women to host a unique beach event in Washington. Inspired by the stories of Stonewall, Stacy and Jolie wanted to establish a fun, family-friendly gathering that celebrates diversity and equality for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and their families.

  • Seattle LGBTQ+ Center

    Seattle’s LGBTQ+ Center’s mission is to cultivate access and connections to promote self-determination, liberation and joy in LGBTQ+ communities. The Center is the definitive hub for LGBTQ+ individuals in King County seeking affirming resources, wellness, and community. Seattle’s LGBTQ+ Center is the leading community-based provider of HIV and STI testing in King County, and through our arts, resource referral, youth advocacy and wellness programming, we support LGBTQ+ folks experiencing intersecting health inequities and oppressions.
