The Boston Fleet Pride Unity Game is designed to celebrate Pride as a moment of visibility, belonging, and community, while recognizing the contributions of LGBTQ+ athletes, leaders, and organizations across Boston. Developed in collaboration with local community organizations, the game centers authenticity, inclusion, and representation, creating space for celebration, connection, and recognition throughout the PWHL game experience. Programming throughout the night highlights the role of LGBTQ+ communities across all levels of sport; from grassroots and recreational leagues to advocacy organizations and community leaders, reinforcing the importance of visibility, access, and belonging both on and off the ice.

Boston’s Pride Unity Game will feature programming integrated throughout the full game experience, including:

-Ceremonial moments integrated into pre-game and intermission programming

-Anthem performance highlighting inclusive representation

-Community organization participation and engagement throughout the arena

-Concourse activations providing opportunities for creativity, connection, and fan engagement

-In-game acknowledgements spotlighting LGBTQ+ impact across hockey, sport, and community

Pre-Game Moment

Anthem Performance – Coro Allegro, Boston’s LGBTQ+ and allied classical chorus
The national anthem will be performed by members of Coro Allegro, Boston’s LGBTQ+ and allied classical chorus. A quartet from the ensemble will deliver a special performance, bringing a powerful and inclusive presence to the opening moments of the game while highlighting local queer talent and community voices.

Concourse Activation

Live Illustration Activation – Art Skips a Beat
Founded by Boston-based artist and creative director Nicolle Lamoureux, Art Skips a Beat will bring live illustration to the concourse throughout the Boston Fleet Pride Unity Game. Artists will create custom, hand-drawn portraits for fans in real time, transforming live interactions into personalized keepsakes. This activation adds a creative and interactive element to the fan experience, offering a unique way for attendees to engage with Pride through art. By capturing individuality and self-expression in the moment, the experience fosters connection, visibility, and celebration across the concourse.

In-Game & Intermission Moments

First Intermission – Pride Parade
The first intermission will feature a Pride Parade moving across the ice surface from end to end, creating a vibrant and celebratory in-arena moment. Participants will engage fans with Pride-themed giveaways including stickers, candy, and other items, fostering an interactive experience that reflects the energy and spirit of Pride.

In-Game Recognition & Storytelling
Pride Unity Game messaging and storytelling will be integrated throughout the game experience via PA reads, video board content, and in-arena acknowledgements.

These moments will highlight participating organizations, recognize community leadership, and celebrate the ongoing contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals across hockey, sport, and community spaces, reinforcing the importance of visibility and belonging within the game.

All Pride Unity Game programming is developed in collaboration with local community organizations to ensure authenticity, respect, and meaningful representation.

The following organizations will be in attendance as part of the Boston Fleet Pride Unity Game, representing LGBTQ+ advocacy, support, and community leadership:

  • The Trevor Project

    The Trevor Project is a leading nonprofit organization focused on suicide prevention and crisis intervention for LGBTQ+ young people. Through 24/7 crisis services, including phone, text, and chat support, as well as advocacy, research, and education, the organization works to create safer, more supportive environments for LGBTQ+ youth. Their work centers reducing isolation, increasing access to affirming resources, and ensuring that every young person has access to life-saving support when they need it most.

  • City of Lowell Pride

    City of Lowell Pride is a volunteer-led organization focused on creating inclusive and affirming spaces for LGBTQ+ individuals and families in the Greater Lowell area. Through community events, Pride celebrations, and local partnerships, the organization works to increase visibility, foster connection, and support LGBTQ+ residents across the region.

  • Greater Lowell Health Alliance

    Greater Lowell Health Alliance is a community health coalition that brings together local organizations, healthcare providers, and public health leaders to address priority health issues across the region.     Boston Roller Derby is a skater-owned and operated flat track roller derby league committed to athleticism, empowerment, and inclusion.     The Pride Employee Resource Group at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute supports LGBTQ+ employees while promoting inclusive, affirming care for patients and families. Through internal advocacy, education, and community engagement, the group works to foster a more inclusive healthcare environment and improve experiences for LGBTQ+ individuals within medical spaces.
