PROFESSIONAL WOMEN’S HOCKEY LEAGUE (PWHL) PLAYER SAFETY COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES DISCIPLINARY ACTION

Boston’s Amanda Pelkey fined $500

TORONTO, ON (April 20, 2024) – The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) today announced that, following a review with the PWHL Player Safety Committee, Boston forward Amanda Pelkey has been issued a $500 fine. The fine was imposed for unsportsmanlike conduct in her actions during a scrum at the end of the game against Toronto on Apr. 18.

 

 

The PWHL Player Safety Committee monitors all games and is responsible for providing independent review and recommendations on supplementary discipline. Chaired by Jayna Hefford, PWHL Senior Vice President of Hockey Operations, the committee also includes Cassie Campbell-Pascall, PWHL Special Advisor; Katie Guay, a current NHL and AHL on-ice official; Mike Murphy, a long-time NHL executive and former VP of Hockey Operations; Matt McMahon, a member of the NHL’s Player Safety department.
