NEW YORK AND TORONTO – The Professional Women’s Hockey League’s (PWHL) four 2026-27 expansion teams – Detroit, Hamilton, Las Vegas, and San Jose – officially unveiled their inaugural season home and away jerseys today, ahead of their on-ice debut during PWHL Opening Weekend, Dec. 5-6.

Keeping with a tradition established across the first eight PWHL teams’ debut seasons, each sweater features the city’s name stitched diagonally across the front. Before the 2026-27 campaign begins, all four team identities – including team names and logos – will be revealed and fans can expect them to be incorporated into on-ice uniforms for the 2027-28 season.

“With Opening Weekend getting closer, unveiling these jerseys is another exciting milestone for our four new teams and the fans who have embraced them from day one,” said Amy Scheer, PWHL Executive Vice President of Business Operations. “Detroit, Hamilton, Las Vegas, and San Jose are each building their own connection with their communities, and these jerseys give fans another way to show their pride while carrying forward a PWHL tradition of putting the city name front and center in a team’s inaugural season.”

Each expansion team will play their first seasons with home and away uniforms that feature color palettes inspired by the unique identity and spirit of their city.

PWHL Detroit

PWHL Detroit’s black home jersey features silver metallic accents, reflecting the city’s automotive history, innovative and industrial spirit, and the bold and resilient identity of Metro Detroiters. The color trio of white, silver, and red stripes are a callback to Detroit's 313 area code, with red as a nod to Hockeytown’s hockey stewardship in the United States for more than 100 years. The team’s inaugural partner, Ally Financial, is the exclusive jersey patch partner of PWHL Detroit.

The white away jerseys debut at PWHL Detroit’s first game at Las Vegas on Dec. 6 (8 p.m. ET), while the home blacks will be first seen at the team’s Home Opener on Dec. 12 vs. New York (12 p.m. ET).

PWHL Hamilton

PWHL Hamilton’s gold, deep red, burnt orange, and cream color palette embodies the city’s steel industry while paying homage to the area’s deep sports history. The gold primary home jerseys with burnt orange and deep red accents evoke the colors of forging and rusted steel, while calling back to the uniforms worn by the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the former Hamilton Bulldogs (OHL) and Hamilton Tigers (NHL).

The team’s cream away jerseys debut at PWHL Hamilton’s inaugural game at Montréal on Dec. 5 (7 p.m. ET), while players will take the ice in home golds for the first time at the team’s Home Opener on Dec. 13 vs. Ottawa (2 p.m. ET).

PWHL Las Vegas

The green, gold, and navy color palette of PWHL Las Vegas is inspired by the natural scenery of Southern Nevada. The primary green home jerseys reflect the beauty of the desert valley, while a custom gold accent color, created especially for PWHL Las Vegas, evokes the sparkle of the desert sun. Navy stripes provide a striking contrast and nod to the desert at night.

The jerseys proudly say ‘VEGAS’ across the front, embracing the name locals use for the place they call home. The home jerseys debut at PWHL Las Vegas’ inaugural game and Home Opener on Dec. 6 vs. Detroit (8 p.m. ET).

PWHL San Jose

PWHL San Jose’s mandarin orange home jerseys with sky blue accents are bright, bold, and imaginative, capturing the Bay Area’s optimistic energy and the beauty of California. The distinct and recognizable mandarin orange color – a nod to both the region’s orange groves and San Jose’s flag – is a first for Bauer to use as a team’s primary color.

PWHL San Jose’s home jerseys debut at the team’s inaugural game and Home Opener on Dec. 5 vs. Minnesota (7 p.m. ET).

“The addition of four new teams is an incredible milestone and a powerful sign of how quickly the PWHL and women’s hockey are growing. Jerseys have always been special in sport. They represent team identity and create an emotional connection between players and fans. In the PWHL, that connection goes even deeper, representing a community that shares a belief in equity and in the future of the women’s game,” said Mary-Kay Messier, Chief Marketing Officer, Bauer Hockey. “As the exclusive jersey partner, we’re proud to bring the PWHL’s designs to life with the same care, performance focus, and attention to detail that we bring to our most innovative equipment. We can’t wait to see these new teams, and their fans, make them their own.”
