NEW YORK, New York (June 11, 2024) – PWHL New York announced today that the team has re-signed goaltender Corinne Schroeder to a two-year contract extension for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) seasons.
“Corinne has definitely proven that she belongs among the world’s elite at her position,” said PWHL New York General Manager Pascal Daoust. “Beyond her physical presence and athleticism, her relentless determination to improve every day on and off the ice and become the best version of herself makes her a key player in our pursuit of excellence and championship.”
A native of Elm Creek, Manitoba, Canada, Schroeder played 15 games for PWHL New York throughout the 2024 season. The 24-year-old recorded the first-ever PWHL shutout on January 1 in Toronto and finished the season with a 0.930% save percentage, leading her to being voted as one of three finalists for the 2024 PWHL Goaltender of the Year Award.
Schroeder was selected 33rd by New York in the 2023 inaugural PWHL Draft after spending the 2022-23 season with the PHF’s Boston Pride where she earned Goaltender of the Year honors. Prior to that, she played four NCAA seasons with the Boston University Terriers and one with the Quinnipiac Bobcats and graduated in 2022 as the program’s Most Valuable Player and a finalist for the NCAA Women’s Goalie of the Year award.

This past season I experienced a lot of growth as a person and a player, so I’m excited for further growth personally and as a team. I’m looking forward to playing a greater role in continuing to build our organization and community.”
Schroeder is the first player to officially re-sign with New York this offseason. She joins a team with eleven additional returnees who signed multi-year contracts ahead of the league’s inaugural season, including forwards Chloé Aurard, Alex Carpenter, Jade Downie-Landry, Jessie Eldridge, Élizabeth Giguère, Abby Roque and Jill Saulnier; defenders Jaime Bourbonnais, Brooke Hobson, Ella Shelton and Micah Zandee-Hart.
PWHL teams have an exclusive window until June 21 free agency to offer extensions to players currently under contract. Per the Players Association, salary terms of contracts will not be disclosed.
