Iconic University of Minnesota venue to host the PWHL on Tuesday, February 27, at 7:00 p.m. CT

TORONTO, ON (February 12, 2024) – The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) announced today that the Feb. 27 game between PWHL Minnesota and PWHL Toronto will be played at 3M Arena at Mariucci. With a capacity of over 10,000, the venue is home of the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers and is widely considered one of the most iconic across NCAA hockey.
“PWHL Minnesota is excited to continue the rich tradition of hockey played at 3M Arena at Mariucci on the campus of the University of Minnesota,” said Natalie Darwitz, PWHL Minnesota General Manager, and University of Minnesota alumna. “We look forward to sharing this experience with our passionate fans.”
Tickets go on sale to the public on Feb. 15 at 2:00 p.m. CT and will be available via gophersports.com/tickets. Fans can sign up online for PWHL Minnesota’s e-newsletter for priority access.
Minnesota has seven former Gophers on its roster in Lauren Bench, Abigail Boreen, Taylor Heise, Amanda Leveille, Kelly Pannek, Lee Stecklein, and Grace Zumwinkle. Toronto has one former Gopher in Olivia Knowles. 3M Arena at Mariucci hosted the 2006 NCAA Women’s Frozen Four, and the inaugural event in 2001 that featured Toronto General Manager Gina Kingsbury (St. Lawrence University) and Hockey Operations Manager Tuula Puputti (University of Minnesota-Duluth).
